Personal safety, de-escalation and practical self-defence education for groups.
This is not just physical training. We teach what to notice, what to say, when to leave, what the law allows, and what to do if escape is not possible.

Shockwave delivers self-defence education outside our regular classes — for schools, colleges, councils, workplaces and community organisations.
Age-appropriate personal safety, confidence and self-defence education for young people.
Suitable for:
Practical training for staff who may deal with difficult, aggressive or unpredictable situations.
Suitable for:
Many people are expected to handle unsafe, aggressive or uncertain situations without ever being taught how to protect their space, use their voice, leave safely or understand what the law allows.
Sessions can be delivered at your school, workplace or community venue, or at our regular training space in Ipswich.
Taster session
1h
A low-commitment introduction — ideal when time is tight or you want to test the fit before booking more.
Practical workshop
2h–3h
Hands-on practice with time to drill core skills — ideal when the group is ready to train in a single session.
Multi-session course
3+ sessions (2h each)
Skills revisited and reinforced over several sessions — ideal for building deeper confidence that lasts beyond a single visit.
Every session is adapted to the age, setting, risk profile and comfort level of the group. Topics can be mixed and matched to create the right programme for your setting.
Awareness
Spotting risk early and noticing exits.
Boundaries
Voice, space and assertive action.
De-escalation
Staying calm and reducing conflict.
The Law
Reasonable force and common misconceptions.
Escape principles
Movement, positioning and getting away.
Physical responses
Simple actions when escape is not possible.
Training builds practical skills and awareness that stay with people long after the session ends.
